Clover Poetry Series: Petals of Nostalgia
I wrote this poem because I wanted to express the nostalgia I feel deep inside me for the place I once called home. A place that has faded away so quickly; it feels as though the memory of the past has been trembling for too long in the abyss of my mind.
Petals of nostalgia
And, in a beat of wings, it all fades away,
the world just a confused stain
lighten up by the shadow of today,
in the nightfall of my dreadful pain.
Darkness of an endless war
embrace me with their filthy hands,
while a wave is resting on the shore
of the heart, a sponge no one understands.
And on the notes of an impossible silence,
incessant storm beats are dancing,
bitter tears on the face are floating
as to paint on that canvas the life,
dreams in the sky drawn with a knife.
And in the trembling memory of the abyss,
a flower soars over the melodious breath,
petals of nostalgia.
